Freelance Graphic Design Retainer

idApostle offers ongoing freelance graphic design services through a monthly or annual graphic design retainer. A retainer is well suited for clients who are looking to:

  1. Ensure they have a designer available when they need one
  2. Maintain consistency throughout their brand
  3. Save money and staff hours by having deliverables developed quickly by a professional
  4. Foster a long-term relationship

A retainer enables idApostle to offer compelling pricing for ongoing “can you give us a quick hand with this” projects that would often not be cost-effective if quoted separately.

Frequently Asked Questions about Hiring idApostle on a Retainer

What type of work can be completed under the retainer? Everything from consulting on brand strategy, designing and producing new communication pieces, making changes to existing materials, and website updates. A list of possible services can be found here. The process of complete brand creation or rebranding is beyond the scope of a retainer and would need to be quoted separately and completed before engaging in a retainer.

What is the minimum number of hours per month? Ten hours

What is the minimum length of a contract? Six months

What if we need more time? If additional hours are required, you will be notified in advance of the work being completed with an estimate for time and costing.

When is payment due? At the beginning of each month, or as a prepaid lump sum for the period of the contract.

What is the cost? The hourly rate varies slightly depending on the length of the retainer, the urgency or turnaround, and the type of work you will require—design versus production. You can expect it to be in the $125 CDN/$90 USD per hour range.
