Over the last 25 years, DP Electric has become one of the largest electrical contracting companies in the Ottawa region. Over time, they have expanded their range of services to residential, commercial, and custom home clients. The existing logo had technical issues, did not provide differentiation from competing companies, and did nothing to capture what is important about the company. idApostle was hired to develop their visual identity including a new logo, and various brand assets that would enable DP Electric to communicate better with their audience.
The logo is an abstract representation of a light switch within the initials DP. While we wanted the solution to represent energy in some way, we wanted to avoid symbols overused within the industry, or at the very least, approach it from a different perspective.
